For the past two days, Arla has been very alert.  It is clear to us that she can understand what we are saying.  She smiles at us and turns her head to be able to see who is talking to her.   Arla is also a lover of people and she is recognizing those who are near her and those we talk about.

Today, with the assistance of physical therapists, she was sitting on the side of the bed for about 15 minutes while they worked with her.  She has fairly good control of her left hand and leg.  She was able to lift her leg quite a few times.  After that, she slept.

Beginning at about 4 p.m., she had many visitors.   She interacts with those who come in, if she is rested.
